Krakow

The city of Krakow is one of Poland's oldest and largest cities with over a thousand years of history, evident in the city's magnificent architecture and unique atmosphere. The origin of the city is the stuff of legend. The local myth claims that a dragon once terrorised the city's inhabitants until it was slayed by brave Prince Krak, the man after whom the city is named. Tradition, mythology and modernity entwine within the city's ancient walls, where the Renaissance castle and gothic St Mary's Basilica stand amidst the abundance of cafés, bars and restaurants.
