Bruges
Bruges was one of the most prosperous cities in Europe during the middle ages, but went into decline until the dawn of mass tourism in the 19th century, when people rediscovered its romantic, untouched beauty. So many visitors don't see the real Bruges, just a procession of bridges, canals, lace shops and chocolatiers, but stay a couple of nights, explore the back streets and little corners and you will see a different side to this enchanting city.
